Star Wars Battlefront Getting More Free Maps in the Future, Sees Biggest Digital Launch in EA History

When Star Wars Battlefront launched last week on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, it not only saw the biggest launch of any Star Wars game in history, but it also enjoyed the largest digital launch in the history of EA, Executive Vice President Patrick Söderlund announced today.

In addition to the free Battle of Jakku DLC next month that adds a new mode and two new maps, Söderlund confirmed EA’s tease that more free content is on the way, including maps and Star Cards:

Of course, we are also planning to support Star Wars Battlefront with new content well into the future. We will be adding more of what you love about the game, like new maps and Star Cards, for free in the coming months, in addition to all of the content we have coming with Season Pass. We’ll have more to share soon.

As he mentioned, there will also be paid content, with four expansions scheduled to launch in 2016, adding 16 multiplayer maps, four new Heroes/Villains, and four new game modes, with Season Pass holders getting two-weeks early access to each pack.

It was also revealed that 15 million AT-ATs were taken down in the first week.

How was your first week with Battlefront?
