Gran Turismo Sport Update 1.05

Looks Like the Gran Turismo Sport Beta Will End on Sunday, July 16

According to a post on the private beta forum, as reported by Japanese players, the Gran Turismo Sport Beta will come to an end on Sunday, July 16.

This version of the beta first began in March and received an update earlier this week that prepped for races featuring tyre wear, fuel depletion, and car damage.

It’s possible we’ll get another GT Sport beta in August though, with Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi telling GT Planet last month, “I’m thinking that after having these closed betas, it might be nice to put up another beta with all of the features that will be available to experience in GT Sport. It would be for a very short time, maybe around August or so.”

In that same interview, Yamauchi shot down a public beta for GT Sport because millions of people would rush to play it and their server costs would shoot through the roof. “So it won’t be completely open,” he added about a potential second beta, “but we would like to at least have at least another tier in terms of participation.”

Gran Turismo Sport releases in fall 2017 for PlayStation 4. Sony won’t announce a firm release date until they’re confident it can be hit.
