DICE GM Patrick Bach Departs Studio (Update)

Update: EA has sent an email confirming our report with both Bach and EA EVP Patrick Soderlund sharing their comments as well.

“Patrick Bach has been a great colleague to many across DICE and EA for almost 15 years. We thank him for all of his contributions, especially to our Battlefield franchise and community, and wish him all the best on his next adventure.”

–          Patrick Söderlund, EVP, EA Worldwide Studios

“I’ve had an epic ride at DICE and EA, filled with amazingly creative and passionate people, and unforgettable experiences with our player community. I’ll certainly be playing Battlefield 1 for a long, long time to come, and I look forward to seeing what’s next from the incredible team at DICE.”

–          Patrick Bach

Original Story: DICE, the studio behind EA’s successful Battlefield franchise, will undergo a personnel change at the very top very soon it seems. According to a source familiar with the situation, DICE GM Patrick Bach has quit as studio head.

It’s said Bach is leaving to spend more time with his family, but it’s unclear whether he’s leaving for another studio, or forming one of his own. Bach, for his part, will have Battlefield 1 as the last game on his resume as a DICE employee.

With Battlefield 1 garnering both critical and commercial success, Bach is certainly leaving on a (very) high note. We here at PlayStation LifeStyle wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.

We’ll update the situation as it develops.
