A leaked image of the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass has revealed the inclusion of Metal Gear Solid protagonist Solid Snake and Family Guy’s Peter Griffin.
Metal Gear? It can’t be!
The image was accidentally put up on the Xbox store, revealing the first season’s name is Underground.
The version of Snake in the image is clearly based on his Metal Gear Solid 2 getup, but it looks a bit closer to the Smash Bros. character model than that of the Hideo Kojima game. It comes shortly after Konami released the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 1.
A part of me hopes we’ll get more Metal Gear skins for the likes of Gray Fox and Raiden. Maybe throw in a Metal Gear on the island.
Snake voice actor David Hayter had recently teased there was more to come regarding Metal Gear in a teaser video for Konami. While many rightly assumed it had to do with Volume 2 of the Master Collection, it’s possible this was another part of that.
Peter Griffin has long been rumored to appear in Fortnite, and Epic has seemingly addressed this by not picking his conventional look for the Battle Pass skin.
Fortnite is currently building up to Chapter 5, with a finale event featuring rapper Eminem this weekend. Epic has bridged the gap between Chapters 4 and 5 by returning to the original Fortnite map from Chapter 1, bringing back many old items, vehicles, and locations as the game celebrated its 6th anniversary.
The Chapter 4 finale takes place on December 2, 2023, at 2 PM ET.
